Before and After Photographs

I was lucky enough to work on a project here in Chester, Vt. A movie called "Moonlight and Mistletoe." I was Tom Arnold's make-up person and personal assistant.I helped the photograph in the middle, by adding brightness, a warmer cast, some saturation, and I cropped it. A little blending too.

This photograph is of a pastel I designed of Cleopatra. The materials were glue and pastels. I edited this photo using saturation, brightness, contrasting, and a touch of warmth. The one in the center is before.

  1. The increased saturation in the Cleopatra one really helps the photo - the pastel in the original is very faded and light, not at all what pastels normally portray.

Cutting out the dark background in the picture of the two of you is a wise choice. It is overwhelming the photo in the original and is just too blank and uninteresting to be taking up such a large percentage of what we're viewing.

  2. Great job with the photo of you and Mr. Arnold. Flash photography, tends to flatten and wash out features. Also, when you have someone else take the photo for you they usually are not professional photographers. So, next best thing is to go to Photoshop and crop it then enhance the colors slightly and voilĂ , you have a great photo.

The same goes for artwork that you want to present on the web, as you clearly have just shown us. Great work!
